Terms of Service
Last updated 2 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Ryan Frank ("we", "us"), the maker of Prepped, for your use of the Prepped app on iPhone and iPad. By installing or using Prepped you agree to them. They are written to be read, so they are short.
The app
We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Prepped on Apple devices that you own or control, under Apple's usage rules. You may not copy, modify, sell, rent or reverse engineer the app, or use it to build a competing product. The app, its design and its code remain ours.
Prepped is downloaded from Apple's App Store, and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where these terms and that agreement conflict about your relationship with Apple, Apple's agreement wins.
Your recipes
Everything you put into Prepped is yours. We claim no rights over your recipes, notes or plans, we cannot see them, and you can export all of it at any time, free, whether or not you subscribe. We will never hold your recipe box hostage.
Recipes you save from websites belong to whoever published them. Prepped keeps them for your personal, household use, which is what recipe sites expect from a reader. You are responsible for respecting the rights of the people whose recipes you save, and for not using Prepped to republish or sell their work.
Prepped Pro
Prepped is free to use, with a limit of thirty recipes that can be placed on the plan, suggestions for tonight only, and one active device at a time. Prepped Pro removes those limits. It is sold as an auto-renewing subscription at $29.99 a year or $4.99 a month, in US dollars, with local pricing set by Apple for your region. Prices may change; if they do for an existing subscription, Apple will tell you first and ask you to agree.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before it.
- You can manage or cancel it at any time in your device's Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. We cannot issue them ourselves.
- There is no free trial and no weekly plan.
If your subscription ends, you keep every recipe. Beyond thirty they can still be opened, read, cooked from and exported; they just cannot be placed on the plan until you subscribe again.
Food, and your kitchen
Prepped never writes recipes. Every recipe in the app came from a website you chose or was typed by you, and the app shows the directions exactly as written. We do not check recipes for accuracy, safety, allergens or dietary suitability, and we cannot. Cooking temperatures, times, substitutions and allergies are your responsibility.
The shopping list combines quantities, sizes them into likely packages, sorts by aisle and leaves off things it thinks you already own. These are estimates made from a fixed table, and they will sometimes be wrong. Check the list before you rely on it.
Using the app responsibly
Do not use Prepped to do anything unlawful, to interfere with the service or the people who make it, or to get around the free tier's limits by technical means. We may stop providing the app to anyone who does.
Changes and availability
We may change, add or remove features, and we may stop offering Prepped altogether. If we ever do, export remains available until the end so that nothing of yours is lost. Prepped depends on Apple's services, on recipe websites we do not control, and on your internet connection, and we cannot promise it will always work with all of them.
No warranty
Prepped is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not promise that it is free of errors or that it will meet your needs.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of Prepped, including lost data, a meal that went wrong, or a shopping trip that missed something. Our total liability to you for anything connected with Prepped is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.
Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Prepped, its content, maintenance or support, or for any claim relating to it, including product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary. If Prepped fails to conform to any warranty, you may tell Apple and it will refund the purchase price; beyond that Apple has no warranty obligation for the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, and any dispute will be heard in the courts of North Carolina, without affecting any consumer protection you are entitled to where you live.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it, and anything that matters is called out in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Prepped after a change means you accept it.
